Welcome back!

Things You Should Know:

Learning. We are so excited to welcome our students and families back for another wonderful year at Tyhee Elementary! Our theme this year is Lead Together: Everyone Leads. Everyone Belongs. Everyone Succeeds. At Tyhee, we believe leadership isn’t about having a title or being in charge, it’s about recognizing our strengths, making positive choices, helping others, and knowing that each of us can make a difference. Throughout the year, we will work together to create a school where every student feels valued, connected, and empowered to lead. As a Leader in Me school, the 7 Habits of Happy Kids are an important part of how we help students develop the skills they need to succeed in school and in life. Through classroom lessons, daily conversations, and opportunities to practice leadership, students learn to be proactive, set goals, prioritize what matters, work well with others, listen to understand, solve problems together, and take care of themselves. These habits help our Eagles grow not only as learners, but also as confident, responsible, and caring people. We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, leadership, and plenty of reasons to celebrate. When we Lead Together, amazing things can happen!

Attendance. Kindness builds belonging. Learners are more likely to attend and engage at school when they feel welcomed, value, and connected. September 21-25 is Kind Week! Safety. Please do not drop your child off at school before 7:30. The playground is not supervised until then.    ~   Thank you for following our drop-off procedures! It is helping drop off time go so much smoother, and we always want our learners and families to be safe    ~   Remember, parents/guardians are not allowed on the playground during school hours without checking into the office first. Thanks for helping keep all learners safe.

Notifications. Please notify the office before 1:45 pm (12:45 on early release Mondays) if there is an unexpected change to your child’s transportation after school. We will not pull kids off of buses if you do not notify the school on time.

Counselor’s Corner: This month counseling lessons will highlight respectful problem-solving and strong classroom community. Younger students are practicing listening, following directions, and staying focused with Second Step Unit 1, while grades 2–5 are learning problem-solving skills from Second Step Unit 4. If you would like more information please reach out to Mrs. Wells at 208-237-0551.
